前幾個星期在台北坐MRT(捷運)時，在escalator(電扶梯)上看到這個標誌：Stand Firm 站穩踏階。

其實Stand Firm較常用於refuse to abandon one’s opinion or belief and be determined，當你堅定不移、不讓步、不改變自己主張、堅持自己立場時，you stand firm. 所以雖然stand firm可直譯為”站穩”，但其實大多時候是指”站穩立場”。

我們來看一些例子吧：

Stand firm on your decision. 堅持你的決定。

Stand firm and fight back. 站穩立場然後反擊。

Stand firm for your beliefs. 堅持你的信仰。

Stand firm for justice. 為公平而堅持。

在國外的escalator較常看到的標語有Hold Handrail (緊握扶手)、No Bear Feet (請勿赤腳)、Attend Children (注意孩童)、Avoid Sides (請站中央)。

多留意日常生活中的標語，常常會學到發現意想不到的單字喔！
